Disney to release archive classic

Disney's High School Musical stars are also set for a return A new series of treasures are set to be unearthed from the Walt Disney archives, it has been announced.

Comicbookbin.com reports this week that a collaboration between Walt Disney and the famed surrealist artist Salvador Dali, entitled Destino, is one of a number of new releases set to hit DVD later this year.

The website notes that Walt Disney Home Entertainment will also launch two other limited edition two-disc sets of Dr Syn, Alias the Scarecrow and Chronological Donald Volume 4 as part of its Walt Disney Treasures series.

It is reported that all of the DVDs will feature an individual number, authenticity certificate and will be hosted by author, critic and film historian Leonard Maltin.

Destino began life in 1946 and features much of Dali's surrealist iconography, it was rediscovered in 2003 and was later completed under the watchful eye of Mr Disney's nephew, Roy Disney.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Disney had commissioned a third instalment of its popular High School Musical franchise.
