LG offers multi-function HD player

13 Dec 2007 15:09

LG's BH-200 performs well on Blu-ray and HD DVD The latest multi-format player from LG makes the battle for dominance between the two new high-definition (HD) disc formats seem irrelevant, according to a new review on Cnet.co.uk.

In a new review the website argues that the firm's BH-200 makes the most out of both Blu-ray and HD DVD and that it could be a great choice for those HD fans still sitting on the fence over which option to choose.

"The BH-200 should make all these problems disappear, or at least shrink slightly," the review states.

It is added that in terms of Blu-ray the unit is fully compatible and can access all the extra features the discs have and that for HD DVD the BH-200 offers full HDi interactivity "so you'll get all the menus and interactivity you would on any other player".

Full 1080p output and QDEO upscaling are some of the other areas in which the review praises the BH-200.

However, it notes that - like its predecessor the BH-100 - the machine won't play CDs and comes with a price tag of around £500.
