22 May 2007 14:08

Sky HD Test Card featuring Myleene Klass With all this brand spanking new technology flooding the consumer market, do you ever find yourself hankering for the good old days when there were just a handful of channels and everyone watched the same programmes on a black and white set?

No? Well, perhaps you just want a chance to embrace nostalgia, in which case news that Sky will be using a test card to launch its new high definition channel will be music to your ears.

The card, launched today (May 22nd), stars former Hear'say singer and I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here contestant Myleene Klass, giving a ten minute explanation about HDTV to viewers.

She said: "I'm really excited to be the face of the Sky HD Test Card and to be taking part in a little piece of TV history. For me, the test card evokes nostalgic childhood memories of staring at the TV waiting for Playschool."

Chris Johns, Sky's chief engineer, added: "Myleene looked great in the jungle and looks even better in HD. With her intelligent presenting style she was the perfect choice to become the face of the test card for the 21st century.

"We hope that our Sky HD test card will become as iconic as the original and create a place for Myleene Klass in the television hall of fame."
