29 Aug 2007 14:02

The SHD7000: First HD DVD player from Ventura Ventura Electronics has launched its first HD DVD player.

The firm officially announced the SHD7000 today (Wednesday) for the North American market and revealed that it has designed the second-generation DVD player to meet "demand for high definition video playback devices" from consumers.

It features 1080i video output and an HDMI connection and is designed to be compatible with the vast majority of HDTVs, which are of course proving to be extremely popular with shoppers!

The player also comes with an ethernet connection which will allow users to access special pre-recorded content on some HD DVD discs as well as bonus features from film studio web servers.

What's more, the SHD7000 is capable of converting standard DVDs "to near HD picture quality" as a result of its HDMI connection and can also play standard CDs.

A statement released by Ventura asserts that "the SHD7000 … offers the superior HD movie experience as defined by the DVD Forum".
