300 is fastest selling Blu-ray Disc/HD DVD

Well well, it seems that more and more people are catching on to the fact that the future is Blu.Sales figures released yesterday (Wednesday) have revealed that action-packed Hollywood blockbuster 300 has smashed previous records and become the fastest selling second-gen DVD.
According to distributor Warner, a whopping 250,000 copies of the film on both Blu-ray disc and HD DVD have been snapped up by eager customers since its release on both formats on July 31st this year.
Ron Sanders, president of Warner Home Video, said: "300 is an amazing film, and the high definition sales we are seeing underscores the positive business benefits of supporting both HD DVD and Blu-ray.
"This phenomenal response to 300 is the latest proof that our approach makes the most sense in today's market and has enabled Warner Home Video to continue to lead the market in high definition sales."
The firm were also pleased to reveal that along with 300, five of its other titles feature in the top ten best-selling high-def discs; The Departed, Superman Returns, Planet Earth - The Complete Collection, Batman Begins and Happy Feet.
