Acer goes Blu
04 Sep 2007 11:53We know that we shouldn't take sides, but something is telling us that Blu-ray is going to get more and more popular over the next few months, and it's hard not to get swept along with it al, isn't it?!
OK, we are of course impartial in the second-generation DVD format 'war', but we are still determined to bring you all the relevant news.
So, listen up, because another top electronics firm has joined the Blu-ray camp.
Acer, one of the world's leading PC brands, has decided that the future is definitely Blu and as such has announced that it has joined the Blu-ray Disc Association.
David Walstra, vice chairman of the association, has asserted that as a result of Acer's decision 50 per cent of the PC market will be comprised of Blu-ray compatible products.
Victor Matsuda, chairman of the organisation's Global Promotions Committee, said: "We are delighted to welcome Acer to the Blu-ray Disc Association."
At present, the Blu-ray Disc Association has around 170 members.
