Autumn release for dual HD player from Samsung

06 Jul 2007 14:00

The Samsung BD-UP5000: High-Definition Player from Samsung A dual HD player from Samsung is to be released in the autumn this year, the electronics firm said this week.

News of the player first came to light in April, and at the time it was suggested that it would be released onto the consumer market towards the end of 2007.

And following an announcement by a spokesperson for the firm at an IFA preparation event, it would seem as though this is certainly the case.

The Samsung BD-UP5000 will be available in either October or November, and will be displayed at IFA 2007 in August. According to Tech Digest, this launch date is more than likely going to apply to the US, with a UK date expected for sometime in early 2008.

When it finally does hit UK shelves, the dual player will be the first of its kind to make its way onto the market.

And, in the event that you have not made up your mind whether you prefer Blu-ray or HD, this may be the perfect solution for you.
