A swanky top-quality Blu-ray Disc player is generally enough to put a great big smile on the face of most technologically savvy consumers. To upgrade that grin to Cheshire cat status would take something very special indeed.Like, say, some free Blu-ray Discs. At Christmas. Yes folks, it appears that five leading names in the world of all things Blu are to offer lucky Australian consumers five free Blu-ray Discs with their players this Chrimbo.
Panasonic, Pioneer, Samsung, Sharp and Sony will be giving away various titles with selected players sold between October 1st and December 31st this year in the form of a mail-in offer.
Happy shoppers Down Under can choose one title from the five participating studios; Disney Fix MGM Sony and Warner Brothers. Film included in the offer are The Wild, Ice Age 2, Rocky Balboa, Casino Royale and Superman.
Michele Garra, chair of the Australian Blu-ray Disc Working Group, said: "This offer demonstrates how broad the support is for this format from leading hardware manufacturers and studios to enable Australians to experience the future of home entertainment in their lounge rooms right now."
Blu-ray Disc players which feature in the offer include the Samsung BDP-1000 and the Sony BDP-S300.
