Festive family Blu-ray fun

Owners of Blu-ray players looking to indulge their Christmas spirit a couple of weeks early may be interested in the release of Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause.The movie stars Tim Allen in his third outing as the bearded saviour of Christmas yet-to-come and this time he is joined by veteran comic actor and star of Three Amigos Martin Short as the mischievous Jack Frost.
Reviewing the disc, The Man Room points out that the movie is one of a small number of festive films that have appeared on Blu-ray shelves so far, but adds that the quality of the transfer could be enough to warrant a purchase.
"With a movie this colorful, it's important to have good saturation and contrast, and the VC-1 encoded transfer delivers just that," the reviewer states.
It is noted that the transition of shots of crisp snowy landscapes to rich and more busy indoor scenes is "continually sharp" and that the audio quality and extra features are also of a good standard.
The movie was originally released around this time last year and picked up a BMI film music award for its Composer, George S Clinton.
