New Blu-ray player from Samsung

Samsung's Blu-ray disc players are pretty top-notch Samsung has launched a brand new Blu-ray disc player called the BD-P1400, which not only plays Blu-ray discs but can also play standard DVDs and up-convert them so they are near-HD quality.

The BD-P1400 is compatible with both standard CD and DVD formats, and via the HDMI connection it can play DVDs at a full HD 1080p resolution.

What's more, it features HDMI CEC (Anynet+) technology which lets you use one remote to operate the player as well as other Samsung products.

It also has dolby digital plus and dolby true HD and offers 24 movie frames per second (fps) playback as well as 60 fps.

According to Samsung, the "BD-P1400 is a perfect centerpiece to your media environment, providing the features you need for a fulfilling entertainment experience".

The firm adds: "Advanced Blu-ray playback technology gives you crisp, clear images, while added picture quality adjustment lets you set sharpness and noise reduction to your liking. HDMI v1.3 lets you experience richer colours. Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD compatibility completes the HD experience."
