18 Sep 2007 16:50

ViewSonic VA Series of widescreen LCD screens Screen maker ViewSonic has introduced a new addition to its VA Series of widescreen LCD monitors, the 19 inch VA1926w, a widescreen display capable of handling panoramic viewing and HD video content on desktop.

Other than a High Definition native resolution of 1440 x 900 and increased viewing area, the new screen also possesses dynamic contrast ratio (DMR) technology that enhances the contrast ratio to 2000:1.

This allows the monitor to control the backlight brightness so that black appears blacker in dark scenes and white is whiter in bright environments. It also uses an incredibly quick ClearMotiv 5ms video response to deliver better picture clarity.

Alan Chang, managing director of ViewSonic in the Asia Pacific region, said: "These latest displays reflect ViewSonic's ongoing commitment to meeting the needs of the 19 inch widescreen market.

"Our VA series of LCDs deliver the features and performance designed to make the most of a customer's technology budget. As a visual technology leader, ViewSonic once again launches the latest innovative DCR technology."

ViewSonic has also introduced a new high definition projector to the home theatre market. The Pro8100 project features a 1920x1080 (1080p) resolution and a Silicon Optrix high performance processor to allow for "Hollywood Quality Video", a spokesperson for the company said.
