21 Sep 2007 18:04

MP3 players, DVD players and digital cameras by Nickleodeon Products that cater for kids' increasing technical know-how have been launched by Nickelodeon.

The new Npower range covers a number of Nickelodeon's characters, including SpongeBob SquarePants, The Naked Brothers Band and Dora the Explorer, and offers products such as DVD players, digital cameras and MP3 players.

Nickelodeon said that the products are aimed at kids young and old; letting people "express their personality with technology that's fun, easy to use and interactive".

The toys will be available for sale in the US next month, when kids can "expect the latest technology as well as the characters they love", according to Leigh Anne Brodsky, the president of Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products.

Describing the products, she adds that "each product has a unique Nickelodeon twist, with surprising technology that lets kids be kids, while still giving them control".

Nickelodeon was launched on April Fools' Day 1979 and broadcast in Columbus Ohio and now claims to be the most-watched kids television station in the US.
