11 Feb 2008 15:31

Remy the Rat stars in Ratatouille Home cinema fans looking for all round family fun have been given more to choose from this week as Pixar adds to its collection of high definition releases.

Today sees the UK release of two of the animation studio's Oscar nominated movies as well as its range of acclaimed short films.

Ratatouille comes to Blu-ray on the back of a win for Best Animated Movie at this year's BAFTA awards and the announcement last month that the film had been nominated in five Academy Award categories.

Also available is a double-disc version of Ratatouille that comes with all of the short films to have been made including Luxo Jr, Tin Toy and For The Birds.

Pixar's 2006 movie Cars will also hit the stores this week, bringing the vocal talents of Owen Wilson, Paul Newman and Michael Keaton to tell the story of how a champion race-car overcomes his prejudices to find the meaning of true friendship.

The Pixar logo is based on the desk lamp characters of Luxo Jr, which was the company's first animated project.
