Resident Evil: Extinction on Blu-ray

The third instalment of the hugely popular sci-fi series Resident Evil is to be released on Blu-ray disc early next year. Resident Evil: Extinction will hit the shops on January 1st and will come in collectable bronze-coloured foil packaging for a recommended retail price of $38.96 (£18.99).
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will also release the film on standard DVD for $28.95 (£14.99) and on PSP $24.94 (£12.99).
It will also come as part of a Blu-ray three-pack for around $89.85 (£43.99).
The plot focuses on genetically-enhanced warrior Alice (Milla Jovovich) as she and her fellow survivors - played by Ali Larter, R&B singer Ashanti, Mike Epps and Oded Fehr - battle to save Earth from a deadly virus.
Special features for the film include the premiere of the trailer for Resident Evil: Degeneration, a full-length CG film which is due to be released in 2008, and deleted scenes.
