04 Oct 2007 14:30

300 has proven to be rather popular for HD fans Trying to get to grips with whether you should be cheering on Blu-ray or backing HD DVD can be a bit of a complex issue, especially if you have a keen interest in all things techy.

Luckily, we at mangotango do our best to help you come to a conclusion by bringing you all the latest news.

As such, we've got this bit of info for you. Summer blockbuster 300 was released on Blu-ray Disc, HD DVD and standard DVD on Monday, October 1st, and according to figures from Warner Brothers sales of HD units on the day of release were higher than those of Casino Royale, making it the most popular HD film when launched to date.

In addition, it was revealed that Blu-ray Discs of the film have outsold their HD DVD counterparts by 2.5 to one, pocket-lint.co.uk reports.

This has led bosses at Warner Brothers to claim that 300 has "set new standards in the sales of high-definition formats".

So, perhaps it's ok to cheer on both formats for the time being!
