Samsung DVD 'beats rivals on price'

02 Apr 2008 15:26

Samsung beats rivals for price Samsung offers a DVD player/recorder that beats a number of its rivals on price, according to a new review.

The Trusted Reviews website states the South Korean manufacturer often plays "second fiddle" to rivals such as Panasonic and Sony but with the DVD-SR150M it has not only succeeded on price but in offering a unit that "turns in a respectable performance".

It is reported that the DVD recorder can be bought online for under £100, making it a cheaper option than Panasonic's DMR-EZ27 and that the good looking Samsung is both practical and feature-packed.

However, the DVD-SR150M is criticised for its lack of HDMI connectivity and notes that although the unit is part of last year's range this is "no excuse", but adds the addition of Freeview is welcome.

"It looks great, recorded picture quality is strong and the inclusion of DVD-RAM recording and a Freeview tuner deliver the knockout combination of flexibility and convenience," the review concludes.
