17 Aug 2007 09:47

Samsung and LG have both been recognised for the quality of their Electronics products Ahh, Friday. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and mangotango has, yet again, got some great technology news for you. How marvellous!

Yes folks, as usual we've got something interesting to tell you (and we're not talking about the best place to do your online shopping - you certainly know where that is!).

What we want to divulge is that a couple of top-notch firms have come up trumps in a highly regarded series of awards.

LG Electronics and Samsung have been recognised by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) for the quality of their products, with each company wining three and four awards respectively.

Samsung's Bordeaux LCD TV, Full-HD Home Theatre and Ultra Edition 12.1 mobile phone were all picked as best in their categories, while the VLUU i70 compact digital camera from Samsung Techwin also won an EISA award.

LG scooped awards for its BH100 Blu-ray/HD hybrid DVD player, FA/FB 162 compact AV system and its FM37 touch screen MP3 player.

EISA awards decide the best products in a range of categories and are chosen by over 50 electronics magazine editors in 20 countries across Europe.
