Sony's big HD push

20 Aug 2007 13:00

Sony to promote high-definition products High definition, it seems, is the way forward. At least, for a certain electronics firm that is.

Sony has launched a great big marketing campaign in the US which focuses on its high definition technology or 'DNA', known as HDNA.

The campaign seeks to highlight Sony's various high-definition products and how each of the categories come together "to bring consumers unparalleled HD entertainment experiences". Or so says Sony anyway!

Adverts which explain the concept of HDNA will soon appear in various US newspapers and magazines, as well as on TV, radio, online and in shops and will be used until next year.

Mike Fasulo, Sony Electronics' chief marketing officer, commented: "HDNA is the core, the essence of all Sony HD products. HDNA ensures an HD experience that you cannot have with any other brand.

"If a consumer is considering the purchase of an HD product, we believe that given our lineage and expertise in the category, Sony should be the only consideration.

"With this comprehensive campaign we will also demystify all of the fears associated with purchasing a high-definition product."

Sony Electronics is to launch a marketing campaign aimed at promoting its range of high-definition products.
