The subwoofer is designed to make TV sound so much better A brand new subwoofer from Thiel Audio is to be put on the UK market by distributor Symmetry.

The firm has announced that it will be selling the new SS1 model from the US-based audio brand, which incorporates Thiel's SmartSub technology.

This subwoofer features a long-throw ten-inch woofer and a 500 watt amplifier in a compact cabinet and produces an output of up to 99dB at 20 Hz, and up to 106 dB at 30 Hz; so expect a pretty impressive sound irrespective of its diminutive status!

According to AVreview.co.uk, Thiel president Kathy Gornik commented: "The Thiel SmartSub products are the most technologically advanced bass systems ever developed for seamless sonic integration in home audio and video sound systems.

"It eliminates the major problems and limitations that conventional subwoofers have in matching the system's main speakers and the room environment."

The SS1 is available in 12 different hand-selected wood veneer finishes as well as painted satin-black. Thiel can also manufacture these cabinets in most desired finishes to special order.
