Toshiba unveils new HD DVD recorders

14 Jun 2007 16:00

The Toshiba HD DVD VARDIA RD-A600 Still debating whether you should go down the path of Blu-ray or HD??

Well, if you are unable to make up your mind, don't worry, because many people are still unsure which second generation format they will opt for. There are also those who are still clinging onto VHS, but we won't dwell on that.

But if you want some help making up your mind, we at mangotango are happy to give you info on the latest products, so you can judge for yourself what will perform better … or look nicer in your living room.

Toshiba, for instance, has just released two brand new DVD recorders, both of which are capable of recording films and TV programmes in the HD format. They can also transfer any images stored on an inbuilt HD drive onto an HD DVD-R disc. And, better still, they can record two programmes at once.

The HD DVD VARDIA RD-A600 has a HD capacity of 600GB and can record up to 78 hours, while the HD DVD VARDIA RD-A300 can store up to 300GB and record approximately 39 hours. Both products can also play regular CDs and DVDs, and will be made available to the Japanese market by the end of this month.
