20 Jun 2007 14:37

The VAIO RM1N desktop is a High-Definition workstation from Sony As you are well aware (and if you are not then you will be very soon), high-definition is rapidly getting its fingers into many technology pies.

The format is becoming increasingly popular as consumers seek clearer images and better sound quality, a fact which more and more electronics companies and retailers are beginning to recognise.

And as a result there are an increasing number of HD products flooding onto the market, including a new workstation from Sony which promises to offer top-notch software and next generation technology to deliver editing capabilities of a professional level.

The VAIO RM1N desktop is, according to the firm, the "ultimate HD workstation" and can be used in a flexible way by business professionals and everyday consumers to produce superbly edited HD content, which can then be stored on Blu-ray Discs.

Jun Koyama, marketing director for Sony VAIO of Europe said: "The RM1N will exert a unique appeal for those needing serious HD editing capability. It has quad-core processing power, professional software pre-installed, a specialised Jog controller for speeding up editing, and it has Blu-ray Disc.

"You're looking at real-world figures of at least 20 hours HD editing time thanks to the terabyte hard disk, plus the facility to record 50GB of high-definition video on a single Blu-ray Disc. This is why we're calling the RM1N the ultimate HD workstation."
