The Hitachi CMP1030WFJ: New 103 inch plasma screen by Hitachi Following the launch of Panasonic's own giant plasma screen in 2006, Hitachi has now announced that it will be bringing a 103 inch plasma TV to the market.

The model is equipped to service both corporations and consumers alike, with special features for businesses such as support for video conferencing with a number of different video sources and high resolution advertisement display.

For high-definition enthusiasts, the TV has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 as well as an impressive contrast ratio of 5,000:1.

The Hitachi CMP1030WFJ weighs in at an impressive 220kg, and is made specifically to order, with shipments likely starting towards the end of 2007.

For those looking for something slightly more modest, Hitachi also announced the release of a 65 inch full HD-ready screen with a contrast ratio of 10,000:1.

Recently at the IFA 2007 consumer electronics fair, Hitachi unveiled a new Blu-ray disc camcorder that offers 8GB of storage space, enough for about one hour of 1080i recording.
