Assassin's Creed top of UK games charts

Assassin's Creed is a popular choice for gamers Sales may have dipped by over 30 per cent, but Assassin's Creed is still proving popular with UK consumers as the game is continuing to sit at the top of the all format chart.

The title held off competition from EA's new game Need for Speed: Pro Street, which entered the chart at number two.

Other new entries in this week's top 40 included Mass Effect, an Xbox 360 exclusive, which came in at number 12, Sega's Mario and Sonic and the Olympic Games at number 14 and PC game Unreal Tournament III from Midway, which is in at number 40.

Back in the top ten, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare from Activision experienced a 46 per cent drop in sales and fell to the third spot, while The Simpsons Game is in fourth.

An impressive 30 per cent leap in sales of Dr Kawashima's Brain Training has seen the Nintendo DS game jump up to number five.

Up three places to sixth is Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii is at number seven, WWE Smackdown Vs RAW is eighth, EA's FIFA 08 is at number nine and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, another new title, came in at number ten.
