Dell to continue production of LCD TVs Following rumours that Dell is to stop making LCD televisions, the electronics firm has announced that it planning no such thing and that it is to keep producing the sets.

It was thought by some that the world's second largest producer of computers was going to halt production of its TVs in order to concentrate on PCs instead, after a recent report in the Taiwanese newspaper Economic Daily suggested that this was the case.

However, on Thursday (June 7th) stepped in to quash the speculation, and revealed that it will continue to make both TVs and PCs.

Rachel Lyon, spokesperson for Dell, said: "We will soon offer a wider assortment of televisions from leading manufacturers that feature the latest technology and meet Dell's high standards for performance."

It was though confirmed that there will be some changes to what Dell will be producing in the way of televisions in the future and what it will be selling, some of which were implemented back in February. For instance, Dell now sells Sony LCD TVs on its site, ranging from 40-inch screens to 46-inch screens as well as sets from Panasonic, Pioneer, Samsung and ViewSonic.

With regards to its own products, the company will now be making TVs with screens that are 37-inches or smaller.
