Eco-friendly LCD TVs from Grundig

25 May 2007 11:09

Grundig has launched a series of Eco-friendly LCD TVs As the debate on global warming heats up many people are increasingly becoming worried about the effect their lifestyle is having on the environment, particularly those with energy-guzzling appliances.

But before you start trying to save the planet by attaching a wind turbine to the top of your telly, let us tell you about the latest 'green' scheme from Grundig.

The company may have just expanded its LCD TV range, but in a bid to offset the CO2 emissions produced by the sets, Grundig has implemented a CarbonNeutral programme for consumers in the UK.

After collaborating with the CarbonNeutral Company, Grundig estimated what a year's worth of CO2 production of one its LCD TVs would be, and has come up with a plan which will see the firm paying for 1kg of CO2 to be saved through environmentally friendly projects for every 1kg of CO2 produced.

The first 'offset' products that will be available on the consumer market will be Grundig's 26 inch, 32 inch and 37 inch LCD TVs, with more products to be available later this year.
