HDTV to display three-dimensional images? Now, we at mangotango know a good thing when we see it. That's why we have such a fantastic range of products for our dear customers to choose from.

More to the point we also know a good thing when we hear about it, and when that's the case we take the time to pass our intriguing piece of info onto you, so that we may all be enthralled together.

So, imagine how our interest-o-metre started behaving when we found out that there may soon be high definition TVs that can produce 3D images.

According to a report in the Guardian, several companies have begun work on creating 3D HDTVs. On such company is Philips, and the paper claims that due to the complicated ins and outs of the set, a prototype Philips 3-D HDTV would set you back £10,000.

Mobile phone company Orange is also working on the technology, and told the Guardian that it works by sending different images to each eye, creating the 3D effect.

The report's author has seen a 3D HDTV demonstration in Paris, and described it thus:
"They're images on a TV in high definition - and in perfect 3D. They look life-sized and real, and I'm not wearing any silly spectacles other than the ones I wear all the time."

Which, all in all, sounds rather exciting don't you think?!
