High-performance HD from LG 50-inch model

The new LG should keep everyone happy The latest 50-inch flat panel plasma TV from LG offers full HD and high-performance sound, according to a new review.

In an article for the HDTV news website, Franz Bicar states that the latest offering in the range from the Korean manufacturer combines connectivity, powerful resolution and surround sound.

With a resolution of 1920 x 1080 it is noted that LG's 50PY3D "provides the most detailed resolution currently possible" and that with three HDMI connections the most ardent of home entertainment fans should have little worries about being tied up in cables.

It is also stated that extra features such as the XD Engine and image sticking minimization "make life with this 50? plasma screen even better" and that with sound functions such as the unit's Dolby Digital Decoder the TV "sounds as great as it looks"

Samsung's BD-P1400 Blu-ray player was reportedly being sold online this week for $270 (£132) making it the first player of its type to be sold for under $300.
