Hitachi and Panasonic strengthen plasma partnership

24 May 2007 14:00

Hitachi and Panasonic strengthened their corporation in the plasma TV market In the increasingly competitive world of television technology, it is pretty important to know who is competing with whom, and who is considered to be the best.

However, it's also nice to know which firms are collaborating in a bid to bring consumers top-notch home entertainment, so you will be pleased to know that two leading firms will be strengthening an already existing partnership to increase their supply of plasma display panels (PDPs).

Hitachi and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd, the makers of Panasonic products, agreed to develop the terms of their plasma technology dealings in February 2005 and now, under this new agreement, the two companies will supply each other with large PDPs.

Panasonic is now set to boost Hitachi's range of products by supplying the firm with its 103-inch plasma panels by the end March 2007, and Hitachi will similarly help Panasonic by supplying its collaborator with 85-inch plasma panels by March 2009.
