Spider 3D image Speculation that three dimensional (3-D) technology is the next big thing in flat screen TV has been given a boost this week thanks to a number of developments revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

According to rtoonline.com, Spectroniq 3-D is just one of the companies that are impressing visitors to the CES with its 3-D HD LCD TV technology and chief executive Leo Chen believes this puts the firm ahead of what could be a major shift in the industry.

"It is an extraordinary feeling to be on the brink of introducing this technology and making it available and affordable to home audiences for the very first time," he said.

The California-based company unveiled its stereoscopic 3-D HD LCD TV range at the conference which includes a 46-inch model is hoped will be the first of its kind to hit the mass market.

Kotaku.com also reports this week that Samsung has unveiled its latest 3-D TV gaming technology that includes a playable 3-D version of Madden NFL 08 and Need For Speed ProStreet.
