JVC unveils new HD LCD screens

High-Definition LCD TVs from JVC Electronics manufacturer JVC has launched a new line of high-definition LCD TVs featuring the firm's second generation high-speed technology.

Initially, there will be three LCD sets in the new range, measuring 37 inches, 42 inches and 47 inches respectively, each offering full HD resolution (1920x1080) and improved motion detection.

The new HD-ready flat panel sets, which were unveiled at the Cedia Expo, make use of JVC's Clear Motion Drive II technology, allowing for frame rates of up to 120 frames per second (120Hz), double the industry standard rate of 60Hz.

By increasing the frame rate to 120Hz when motion is detected, the TV sets create can create an interpolated image to reduce blurring during high speed sequences, without flickering.

All three TVs come with three HDMI inputes, an RS-232 interface, PC input, Smart Video input, one S-Video inpute, three AV inputs and two component inputs.

They also come packaged with five speakers and a 20-watt amplifier, allowing for Advanced Hyper Surround Plus and JVC Smart Sound, which maintains a constant audio level as content changes.

The company also unveiled two new 1080p (1920x1080) HD home theatre projectors, both of which deliver a native contrast ratio of 30,000: 1 and a 2x zoom lens.
