Mirai announces new LCD range

Mirai is still new to the growing UK LCD market Mirai has announced it is to roll out a range of LCD TV panels across Europe starting with a 32 and 42-inch models.

The manufacturer, which is owned by the Taiwanese Chi Mei Corporation, has brought its DTL-832E500 and DTL-742E600 to the UK and both are reported to be HD compatible, according to the HDTV News website.

The site notes that the larger 742E6000 not only offers full 1080p high definition but also comes with an integrated digital tuner, dual HDMI connectivity and is expected to retail for around £740.

It is also stated that despite the 32-inch 832E600 being unable to display a full 1080p signal it can support the format and has a contrast ratio of 6,000:1 and a price tag of around £360.

The Chi Mei Corporation created in excess of 22 million large format LCD panels during 2005 and currently supplies computer monitors and smaller panels through its Chimei brand.
