16 Nov 2007 16:11

LG's new telly will let you stream HD video from the internet LG is to launch a 52-inch LCD television dubbed the 52LG71 which comes with Wi-Fi.

The company is planning to showcase its new 1080p set at the Consumer Entertainment Show in January, which will be the first on the market to come with super-fast 802.11n Wi-Fi.

Which of course is fab news for anyone who is a fan of high-definition tellies, but also for those who like to stream high-def video from the internet, which is expected to become increasingly available over the coming months.

According to LG, this is appealing because it means that consumers would not need to buy a separate set-top streaming box.

While no further details, such as specs, a price or a date when it will hit the shops, have been made available, but it is thought that a more detailed statement will be issued soon.

What the company has said, however, is that the 52LG71 will have a 120Hz panel and other technologies that "represent the best of LG's technology".
