New 65" LCD panel unveiled by AU Optronics

Well, luckily you are in the right place, as mangotango has yet another piece of interesting info for you to chew over.Try not to get too excited, but AU Optronics has today launched a 65-inch full HD 120Hz LCD TV panel, and the Taiwan-based panel maker is claiming that it is only the second in the world of its kind which is able to be sold in the consumer market.
The FHD 120HZ LCD TV panel has 1920x1080 high resolution and double frame rate 120Hz technology, as well as a response time of four milliseconds grey-to-grey and eight milliseconds Motion Picture Response Time (MPRT), resulting in top quality images. In fact, according to AU Optronics, their new panel produces pictures with a plasma-like quality.
Dr David Su, senior vice president and general manager TV display/consumer product display business groups of AUO, said: ''It is expected that large-sized LCD TVs with features of full HD, high resolution, and double frame rate 120Hz will go mainstream.
''With the addition of 65-inch full HD panels, AUO is able to offer customers TV panels featuring full HD and ASPD 120Hz driving technology in the sizes of 42-, 46- and 65-inches."
The new panel will be showcased in Taipei at Display Taiwan 2007, from June 13th to June 15th.
