New Kuro builds on an impressive pedigree

17 Dec 2007 18:13

Family watching TV The Pioneer Kuro series has continued to impress, however, its latest LX608D is more than worthy of its place in the range and with superior connectivity, clarity and sound could even live up to its high price tag, the Trusted Reviews website stated.

With a 60-inch panel that is both stylish and minimalist, the review states that the presence of the panel is enough to evoke envy in any viewer and adds that the component video, USB and triple HDMI connectivity also inspires confidence before the unit has even been switched on.

The Deep Colour function offers "a much richer colour palette than standard video" and the LX608D's full HD resolution and Crystal Emissive Layer combine to produce a level of sharpness that the review states is "jawdropping".

However, the review goes on to state that while the audio quality is just as satisfying as the picture quality, the LX608D is not quite as contrast-rich as the smaller models in the Kuro range but that the size of the unit goes some way towards accounting for this.

"While it may not quite achieve perfection, for our money the LX608D gets closer to it than any TV we've seen before," the review concludes.

Last month the Sydney Morning Herald suggested that the 50-inch 508XDA was the "best in the world" and that other reviews of the panel had agreed with this.
