New LCD TV from JVC
18 May 2007 13:00As its Friday, we, the lovely people at mangotango, thought that you deserved a little treat. And as we know what technology nuts you are, we've decide to tell you about a brand new product.
Hold your breath in wonderment, because the second generation Clear Motion Drive (CMD) high-speed LCD television technology has just been launched by JVC.
This brand new piece of telly ingenuity promises to deliver "crisp, fast action images" which can often be a downfall in a typical LCD TV. It features a refresh rate of 120 frames per second, double the typical rate of 60Hz, and it also uses a frame doubling driver to reduce the blurring or flickering of images.
What's more, JVC will use its fifth generation Digital Image Scaling Technology engine (DIST) on the JVC-exclusive 32-bit Genessa chip (a top-notch image processor), meaning that the TVs will have a "rich, natural colour reproduction".
The CMD technology will be implemented in three new LCD TVS, which will be introduced in the US as part of JVC's new High Speed 2 series in autumn. A launch date for Europe has yet to be announced.
