New Pioneer plasma stands up to its bigger brother

19 Dec 2007 15:16

TV remote Pioneer's Elite Kuro plasma series has added another entry to its range that can stand up to the largest of its siblings, a new review has suggested.

According to a new article in HD TV Magazine, the Japanese manufacturer's 42-inch Pro-950HD panel offers great movie playback from Blu-ray and can handle fully HD images a lot better than its counterparts - despite offering only 720p.

"We found that even [fully HD] sports looked better than the Mitsubishi DLP [range]," the site said.

It went on to say that Pioneer's larger, Pro-150FD 60-inch model, which offers full 1080p resolution, displayed deep blacks and rich colour and that the 950HD lived up to its bigger brother.

The review concluded that like the 150FD the 950HD was "a fantastic TV with one of the best pictures we have seen".

Earlier this month, PC World Magazine listed the 950HD as one of the most notable HD TVs around.
