Panasonic expands plasma range

New LCD models from Panasonic (The 42-inch TH-42PZ77 and the 50-inch TH-50PZ77) Panasonic announced yesterday (Thursday) that it is to expand its range of 1080p high definition plasma televisions.

The company revealed its plans at the opening of the 2007 CEDIA convention and said that it is going to ship two new "more affordable" models later this month.

The 42-inch TH-42PZ77 and the 50-inch TH-50PZ77 will be part of the new PZ77 series and will be priced at $1799.95 (£900) and $2799.95 (£1,400) respectively.

Dennis Eppel, vice president, Panasonic Display Company, said: "CEDIA is the perfect environment to introduce Panasonic's expanded line of 1080p Plasmas.

"Custom installers are a very important part of our business and with this in mind we are confident that the depth and outstanding picture quality of Panasonic's Plasmas will meet and exceed the installer's requirements.

"In the end, Panasonic's commitment to providing the highest quality ensures that we will continue to meet consumer desire for a High-Definition lifestyle."

According to the firm, Panasonic is "the market and technology leader in Plasma HDTVs".
