Panasonic viewers can expect to experience deep blacks Big Picture Big Sound has lauded the new line of HDTVs for their contrast ratio (also known as black level reproduction), indicating that most exhibit superior contrast levels to their 2007 counterparts.

It highlights Panasonic's 2008 Viera Plasma 1080p models which feature a newly designed panel with high contrast ratio and an improved anti-reflective screen, lead free panels and an increased usable lifespan.

However according to the sector website, the whole line boasts a new look with a sleekly designed black frame with matt black base.

New add-ons featured on all the sets include an SD card slot for instant digital photo viewing and a Game Mode which provides maximum response times for eager games.

Meanwhile, the top of the range models boast a VieraCast IPTV feature which allows viewers to access websites like YouTube to view video content without a computer.
