"Potent" Samsung precedes new spring range

19 Feb 2008 12:30

Samsung has a new range scheduled for Spring 2008 Samsung may have a new range emerging soon, but one article has noted that one of their most recent 50-inch plasma TVs is still a solid purchase.

A review for the Trusted Reviews website this week highlights the PS50Q97HDX for its stylish good looks and range of features, but claims the current price of the unit is of particular interest.

"We just had to [review the screen] before it disappears from UK shelves, for the very simple reason that it can now be had for comfortably under £900, making it potentially an AV steal that you simply cannot afford to pass up," the site states.

However, it is noted that the age of the screen does mean that it suffers in some areas and that with "limited" HDMI ports the screen will not offer the same range of connectivity options as a newer model, although it adds that this should not be such a concern for those looking for a bargain.

A HD resolution of 1,365 x 768 and contrast ratio of 15,000:1 and Ultra FilterBright technology form part of the panel's tempting specifications and Samsung's Natural True Colour is noted for adding to the "extremely potent" colour reproduction.

The South Korean manufacturer recently announced the launch of a new 70-inch LCD TV which it claimed is strictly "for the discerning home entertainment purist".
