Samsung LCD backs video game tournament

South Korean LCD TV manufacturer Samsung has announced that it will back the Official Halo 3 Tournament, it has emerged.

The company has taken the opportunity to push the benefits of its new high definition LA40A550 LCD panel and has offered entrants of the competition the chance to take one home.

Xbox gamers from Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand will come together to show off their skills and David Henry, director of corporate marketing for Samsung in the Asia Pacific region said the company was happy to support this.

"We are proud to offer our sleek and stylish LCD TVs which combine ultra-sharp picture quality and crisp surround sound to provide gamers with an amazingly realistic gaming experience," he said.

Also on offer to winners at the tournament will be a brand new Xbox 360 Elite as well as a range of accompanying accessories and Microsoft Points.
