Samsung plasma goes big and bold

10 Dec 2007 11:17

The electronics firm battles for the big screen market For home entertainment fans who like their movies big and bold, Samsung's 63-inch plasma TV could be just the right purchase, a recent review has suggested.

According to the Trusted Reviews website, the Samsung PS-63P76FD is not only visually stunning but also offers superb sound that will make the most of any HD cinema experience while still offering a range of options on compatibility.

It is noted that the number of HDMI sockets will allow three units such as a Sky HD set-top box, HD DVD or Blu-ray player and games console to run happily alongside each other and make the most out of the panel apostrophes rich colour palette and clarity.

"The picture additionally seems more dynamic and bright than those of all of its 60-inch-plus rivals bar the Pioneer 608XD, and there's a terrific sense of solidity and richness to the picture," the review states.

Also highlighted is the fact that for such a high-level plasma screen, the PS-63P76FD is competitively priced at £3,543 - which, the magazine points out, makes it "over two grand cheaper, say, than Panasonic's current full HD 65-inch model, the TH-65PX600".

Last week Dow Jones reported that Panasonic could soon be bundling Blu-ray players with its HD televisions - making it clear which of the new formats the company is behind.
