Samsung to create 'ultimate' lifestyle electronics

25 Sep 2007 18:28

Armani and Samsung to launch a range of fashionable Lifestyle TVs and Mobile Phones Samsung Electronics has announced a new partnership with none other than Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani to develop a new range of luxury consumer electronics, including an LCD TV and a mobile phone.

Making the announcement after the Armani fashion show in Milan last week, Samsung said that the LCD TV, which will be designed by the Italian maestro under his home interior lifestyle brand, Armani Casa, should go on sale in Europe by January 2008, while the elegant new phone will be released in November.

"Today fashion has expanded to encompass our way of life, not just how we dress, but how we design our home, the hotels we stay in, the car we drive and the technology we buy," Armani said in a statement for the press.

"In fact, we make as much of a personal statement with mobile phones that we carry or televisions we have in our living rooms as we do with shoes and bags we wear or furnishings that we choose to place in our homes."

Jong-Yong Yun, vice chairman of Samsung, said that the collaboration would enable both companies to expand their customer-base by offering expressive and luxurious products.
