Samsung to have an LCD-tastic year in 2008

13 Nov 2007 16:39

Samsung LCDs look set to sell well next year Good day to ye, fair mangotangoers, we trust that this news finds you well.

Ok, sorry for the olde English but we thought that it would nicely juxtapose the super-modern bit of information we are about to relay.

For you see, it has become apparent that Samsung is going to have a bit of a bumper year in terms of sales in 2008.

According to the firm, it will shift a staggering 20 million of the sleek sets next year, 60 per cent more than was previously thought.

What's more, it has predicted that it will sell 13 million LCD TVs by the end of 2007, which equates to a rise of 6.2 million units from last year.

A Samsung spokesperson commented: "We are close to changing our sales target for next year but this forecast is persuasive as Samsung has been expanding its presence in Europe, North America and Asian emerging markets, including China and India," the Korea Times reports.

It is thought that consumer demand will continue to grow, pushing the sales up.

Samsung Electronics is the largest LCD television maker in the world.
