20 Mar 2008 16:41

More screens on the way from Sharp this month Sharp has announced that buyers looking for a new entry-level LCD TV will have more to choose from buy the end of the month.

According to the HDTV news website the Japanese manufacturer is to launch three new screens that will target the budget market.

It is noted that the new screens will form part of the Sharp D44E range and will be available in 26, 32 and 37-inch versions designed as a replacement to "the solid if unspectacular GD8E range of no frills screens".

The panels will come equipped with a 1,366 x 768 resolution and 10,000:1 contrast ratio as well as a 6m/s response time. Each of the models will also break with Sharp tradition and be available not only in black but also grey.

An ambient light sensor and freeze frame are also featured and with the 26 and 32-inch models available at £499 and £599 respectively, the LCD TVs are clearly aimed at those looking for a basic upgrade.
