Sony and Panasonic win high-def and HD awards

High-definition award to Panasonic and Sony Leading electronic brands Sony and Panasonic have been given a big pat on the back this week after they came top of the class in a list of the brands who get the most love from customers.

Sony finished first in both the LCD high definition TV and DVD player categories of the 2007 Brand Keys Customer Loyalty Engagement Index, which was released this week. Panasonic came up trumps in the plasma television category.

Samsung was number one for customer loyalty among people with tube high definition TVs while in the computers category Apple was the number one brand for customer loyalty.

Brand Keys stated on its web site: "The annual Brand Keys Customer Loyalty Engagement Winners are those brands best able to engage consumers and create loyal customers.

"The brand whose drivers come closest to meeting (or even exceeding) those of the category ideal is always the one whose customers will demonstrate the highest levels of engagement and loyalty over the next 12 to 18 months."

The winners of each category were chosen based on telephone interviews with ladies and fellas aged between 18 and 60.
