Sony: like a rainbow?

25 Mar 2008 17:33

Sony follows up the hype Sony has followed up its popular Bravia TV adverts with an LCD panel that adds to the range, a new review has highlighted.

According to the Trusted Reviews website the Japanese manufacturer has advertised its new range of LCD panels to perfection but asks the question as to whether or not the screens live up to the hype.

In a review for the 46W3000 the website notes that the panel has an "unusual" design with an "impressive" finish and that with full HD resolution and a promised contrast ratio of 16,000:1 the screen comes with the right details on the box.

However, it is noted that this claim is a little over exaggerated and that the figure is more modest.

Sony have equipped the screen with its Bravia Engine EX, as well as three v1.3 HDMI sockets and two component video inputs. The dedicated PC D-Sub input is also highlighted as "handy" although this is not enough to address some of the unit's motion issues.

The latest Bravia advertisements have used the Rolling Stones' track - She's a Rainbow.
