Soyo takes on the big boys at CES

New screens are on the way from Soyo A US consumer electronics firm is set to challenge the big players LCD and plasma TV market at this year's CES show, it has emerged.

California-based Soyo, which also deal in computer peripherals and other electronics products, will unveil a new 24-inch LCD unit and a 32-inch plasma screen at Las Vegas show - which will also be attended by some of the biggest names in the consumer electronics industry.

According to HDTV News, the manufacturer's 24-inch screen will be fully HD and will offer a contrast ratio of around 1,000:1 as well as having picture-in-picture functionality and HDMI connectivity.

The larger panel will offer two HDMI ports and a 1,500:1 contrast ratio but will clearly be looking toward the budget market with an estimated price tag of $499 (£252).

According to the Trusted Reviews website, Soyo's current 32-inch LCD screen, the DYLTO32, gives a "stunning picture quality … and adds an elegant touch to any decor".
