Strong PS3 focus from Capcom

05 Oct 2007 09:00

Capcom is going to focus its efforts on the PS3 The Playstation 3 console seems to be getting a fair old bit of attention at the moment. Amid suggestions that Sony is about to drop the price by almost £60, it appears that games publisher Capcom is going to shift its main development focus onto the PS3.

According to a report from Jiji Press, the company is going to move away from creating games for the Playstation 2 console and start concentrating on making new and exciting titles for the PS3 instead.

The PS2, the predecessor of the PS3, has remained popular with consumers since its launch in 2000.

Nonetheless, it is thought that this change in tack will be implemented next year.

Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto revealed that the publisher will be maximising profits by continuing to make multi-platform titles.

The firm is responsible for a number of successful games which have entered the market via the Xbox 360, such as Dead Rising and Lost Planet: Extreme Condition.
