According to a report from Jiji Press, the company is going to move away from creating games for the Playstation 2 console and start concentrating on making new and exciting titles for the PS3 instead.
The PS2, the predecessor of the PS3, has remained popular with consumers since its launch in 2000.
Nonetheless, it is thought that this change in tack will be implemented next year.
Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto revealed that the publisher will be maximising profits by continuing to make multi-platform titles.
The firm is responsible for a number of successful games which have entered the market via the Xbox 360, such as Dead Rising and Lost Planet: Extreme Condition.
