Super-slim LG coming "sooner rather than later"

15 Feb 2008 13:34

LG is building on the innovation of its older models LG's anticipated new ultra-slim 42-inch model could be made available sooner than has previously been suggested, according to an article for endgadgetHD.

The site notes that the LGX LCD screen is being shown to the Federal Communications Commission – and that this move is a good sign that the panel could be on the market "sooner rather than later".

It is noted that the screen, which the manufacturer had previously been unwilling to provide a release date on, measures 1.7 inches and is not only super-slim but also has a number of high performance specifications.

As well as 120Hz processor and a contrast ratio of 15,000:1 the screen also offers LED backlighting, four HDMI sockets, a USB port and a stylish red-coloured back panel as well as boasting LG's SimpLink control protocol

SimpLink allows compatible electronics equipment to be chained together in a similar way to Samsung's Anynet technology and Sony's Theatre Sync system.
