Thinner is a winner for Pioneer

Pioneer's thin TV will have much competition The battle between manufacturers to create the best flat panel plasma television could now focus on who can produce the thinnest, one blogger has suggested.

In an article for Gizmodo, Brian Lam states that a recent report from the BBC that revealed Pioneer was set to unveil its "world's thinnest" plasma screen at this year's CES consumer electronics show, could just be the tip of the iceberg.

Mr Lam states that manufacturers have always been keen to outdo each other and that Pioneer's appearance at the conference would have been no different. However, he adds that the firm should remember to build on its reputation for high performance.

"The TV is thinner than a deck of cards and they're claiming [it is the] world's thinnest, although we've no idea of whether or not the Plasma will pack any of that top-line Kuro tech," the blog states.

Pioneer added to their Kuro range with the 60-inch LX608D last year. The Trusted Reviews website said it was a worthy entry into the firm's popular range.
